10. What is NLP?
Neural Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a revolutionary approach to human communication and development used by life coaches and motivational speakers throughout the world. William Sumner is a master of the NLP tools which have helped millions of people overcome fears, increase confidence, enrich relationships, and achieve greater success.
NLP is a powerful and effective method of changing communication at all levels using a set of tools and techniques based on linguistics (language, thoughts, writing, symbols, feelings, etc.) to change how you think and what you think, which, in turn, can dramatically transform the results you create in your life. NLP can assist you in identifying negative emotions as well as limiting beliefs, limiting behaviors and old patterns using simple and effective techniques, allowing you to make powerful and lasting changes in your life to achieve whatever you want.
NLP was created in the format we know it today in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder; they modeled human excellence at the University of California at Santa Cruz, including the linguistic and behavior patterns of leading people, initially in the area of psychology. They were able to identify what these people did that made them effective so that these patterns could be precisely defined and explicitly taught.
